Welcome to Rhythmwood
Sharing the Joy of Movement |
The studio in progress
Wendy and her husband Rick have always been drawn to the pioneering lifestyle. They started in 1989 with constructing their log home from scratch using sustainably harvested logs that they cut from their own property. It took them two and a half years of dedicated work to complete this project. Today they are in the process of completing a beautiful straw bale structure which will become the home of Rhythmwood, a studio for teaching and sharing Nia. Built from earth friendly materials, the walls of this studio are coated with natural clay. The heated floors will create a warm and welcoming treat for the feet to dance upon. Wendy looks forward to the day when classes and retreats will be offered in this studio space. Patience has always been an important aspect of creating theses organic buildings by hand. Stay posted to find out when Rhythmwood will be opening its doors to the public.
Other opportunities at Rhythmwood
Not only is Rhythmwood a studio for Nia classes and retreats, but it is also a space for other kinds of creativity. You will find classes and workshops on log house building, straw bale building, creating twig furniture, as well as sustainable living. See the website for Homestead Woodworks to find out more about what’s being offered by Rick and Wendy at Rhythmwood this year.
